OUR NEW CHAIR!
Rebecca and I had the most fun week! We spent 3 days repainting and redecorating our play room as an anniversary present for Daddy. (Happy 5th, honey)! We painted, bought new bookshelves and storage bins for all the toys, mounted a light fixture in the dark corner, and hung some pictures and four original finger paintings by a very promising budding young artist! There is even a "football" wall for Daddy, complete with big screen TV, (thank goodness I finally have that monstrosity out of the family room!) and a display area for Daddy's high school football helmet and a football signed by the one and only Joe Willie Namath.
Daddy was impressed, and loved what we had done, but the room was missing something. With only one old sofa against a long narrow wall, we felt like we needed a snug little reading chair. So we went shopping for the most fun, comfy, and affordable (cheap) chair we could find. Rebecca knew she had found the one as soon as we passed the window at Pier1. Maybe it was the red color, but she thought it looked like a nest, and when she climbed up in it, she turned to scream, "I want this one!" And how could anyone have resisted when she smiled and said, "We can all fit in here together!" So now we are the proud owners of one very bright red, round, cheap, but very, very comfy papasan chair. And guess what, I think it did turn out to be the perfect chair; just look at that face. Happy all over! And that makes me happy too.

Funny you should end up with a papasan chair. Cait has been telling me THAT would be the perfect reading nook for her room in the new house!! Today, my mother-in-law told Cait she could have hers (she's thinning out stuff so she can move!)
I have no idea what color this one will be - red would definitely be bright in out dark tan shades!!!
Happy Anniversary! (what date??) Rick and I celebrate 20 this Wed.
Love the sweet pics of Rebecca in that FUN chair!!! Sorry I haven't called you back . . . Vernon's mom had a stroke this weekend and we are up at the hospital and making major life changes . . . all in a matter of minutes it seems! I love you and miss you!! We'll talk soon.
